The last quiz of the season saw Oswin Diniz dish out cracker of a quiz blighted perhaps only by the below-par attendance. A real enjoyable encounter nonetheless. We’ll be back after the small matter of exams and trips et al.
And this time the show-stopper is none other than the loquacious Oswin Diniz – the man whose puns make every girl on the planet go weak in her knees. *So, he emphatically told me once when we were having a small convo on Gtalk*.
Doing away with all the verbosity, Oswin will be hosting the final quiz for the season. It has been a really fruitful Season 2 for SPQC and it’ll take a 2 month sabbatical after this session and return with the even semester. Oswin has put a lot of effort into this one. The quiz has 50 IR, a theme and a Long Visual Connect.
There is a small change in plan though. The quiz will be held on Wednesday and not Thursday as always.
FACE (Forum for Aspiring Computer Engineers) organised a Mega Quiz for college folks. It was a very well done event – complete with a cozy auditorium, good humor, lots of participating teams, food, prize money and whole lot of fun. The quiz for special for more reasons that one -
Fistly, the research was done by former SPCE *stalwart* Rohit Ajitkumar, who’s currently vacationing in Atalanta under the guise of a MS degree and and his batchmate Rahul Kulkarni, who has hot ladies aound him at Marico – the nice little place where he works. Rahul was gracious enough to take time off work and host the event as well.
Adhitya Iyer was instrumental in the organisation and delivery of the entire event and also contributed the Sholay theme round. *I thought of putting pics of all three here, but its just too much work*
The final standings were -
1. Tanush, Pranav & Chinmay – 250 ish
2. Pratap, Abhijeet & Cinjal – 200 ish
3. Brett, Anish & Siddhant – 165
4. Amey, Dimple & Sinan – 160
5. Three bright blokes from SE IT whose names I’ve missed out – 50 ish
The top three teams became richer by 900,600 and 300 bucks respectively and all in all it was an enjoyable evening at the SP Jain Auditorium.
*Note – The ppt will be put up in this post itself in a day or two*
Sharing with you Taha and Abhijit’s quiz. Have a look. Next week should be an eagerly anticipated quiz from Rohit, sealed and sent all the way from the U S of A.
Taha and Abhijeet are the QMs for this week. Given that Abhijeet’s last quiz – Nirmaan 09 was a huge success, we hope that this too is cool. And we welcome Taha to SPQC’s QM fold. To all those who are musically inclined, “Bolo Tahahahhaha! “. See you there.
Due to some technical glitches, Tanush and Swinburn’s last quiz isn’t being converted by either slideshare or scribd. So, anyone interested in the ppt, drop in your email id in the comments. I’ll forward the PPT.
@Rohit, the most demanding SPQC patron : I’ve already sent you. Whats the update on the 22nd quiz ?
Tanush and Swinburn have a humongous quiz lined up. 100-ish questions. And I’m sure lots of people will be there to appreciate their effort. You will not be disappointed.
A bit late but nevertheless here it is…
The Nirmaan Quiz was conducted by SPQC with Mayuresh doing the Elims and yours truly the Final.
The quiz was a fun session with a play-off round added after the Elims as a novelty, and was won by a team from Fr. CRCE, Bandra.
